TURNED STONE - Vesta

Vesta is one of the biggest asteroids with 560 kilometers in lenght it has never been closely imaged before. It used to be called a planet but that changed in the 1800's with the realization that there were minor bodies other than planets in the solar system.

MEADE 14” LX200 Ritchey-Cretien Telescope on Equatorial mount and SBIG ST2K single shot color CCD Camera. Exposure time: 10 seconds in high resolution. Processing done in CCDops, Maxim DL4 and Adobe Photoshop CS
