EVENING IN ISHTAR - Venus

Evening in Ishtar, Venus´s “continent” in the northern hemisphere, was soon to follow after this UV exposure was taken.

But night or day on Venus means nothing for temperatures there remain an unthinkable 480°C throughout its 22 hour day.

The sulfuric acid clouds that cover the planet´s surface are clearly visible in this image. Venus has a lead melting atmosphere which is the product of a runaway greenhouse effect.

MEADE 14” LX200, SBIG ST2K. Exposure time: 6 x 0.1 seconds in high resolution with UV Filter.
