
Arcturus is the fourth brightest star in the night sky. It is a K1.5IIIFe-0.5 type star, with an apparent magnitude of -0.04. It shines 210 times brighter than the Sun. It is located at 36.7 light years from the Solar System.
As a variable star it changes the apparent magnitude from time to time with increased coronal activity.
