
Magnitude is one thing, proximity is another. Angular size, one can reason, could well be the differentiating factor when it comes to measuring a star's gravitational interaction in our galactic neighborhood.
Following this rationale, SPACENOW compiled the 20 broadest star discs as they come across through a 14'' telescope with a color ccd camera using the HMIR technique.
This pictorial list was put together in a decreasing order using the shortest possible exposures without any processing. The images are all in unaltered FIT turned TIF format for quality purposes.
